In the Terrar of Abbat Beere [AD 1518] is the following account of the tenants at Gomeldon:
Edmund Gomeldon held one messuage and one virgate of land at Gomeldon, with a croft containing one acre, and in two closes adjoining 2.5 acr. of meadow and pasture; also a toft of another virgate with a close called North close containing 1.5 acr.; also pasture for 30 sheep beyond the extent of his tenure, by the yearly rent of 20d.; also 57.5 acres of land in the two fields; fine 10s.; rent 25s. 8d.; and two heriots.

The latter pedigree of Gomeldon is from Sir F. Bysshe's Visitation of Middlesex, 1663, at which date William Gomeldon, Esq. was of Chiswick, in that county, having purchased the estate there, since called Corney House, in 1559 (sic).

The date of 1559 looks like a misprint for 1659
