Wentworth Dilke was a son of Samuel Dilke, by his second wife, Chrysogon Draper. He was born 26 Dec 1676.

He became an apothecary in London and, on 10 Feb 1694, he married Mary Gumbleton, daughter of Jonathan Gumbleton of Salisbury, Wiltshire. They had two children:

  • Wentworth Dilke Wentworth, born 4 Apr 1698, who took the additional name of Wentworth. He died 18 Nov 1781
  • Dilke, bapt. St Peter's, Cornhill, London, 21 Mar 1702/3
