Private and Confidential
My Lord Bishop,
I am writing to let you know that the King has been pleased to approve your appointment to the new Suffragan See of Dunwich. I have so informed the Bishop of St. Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
As regards the date for the announcement of your appointment, I would propose to give the notice to the press next Tuesday evening to appear in the newspapers on the following day. If you prefer an earlier or a later date, perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know.
Yours very truly,
1. Perhaps Sir Nevile Montagu Butler KCMG CVO (1893–1973)

requesting that they should take the necessary steps

appointment as Bishop Suffragan of Dunwich.
