| William Frederick Gumbleton was in the 9th Battalion Royal Fusiliers. Kichener formed the 'First New Army' (designated K1) in 1914, and the 9th Battalion was formed at Hounslow, in August 1914, as part of it. The 9th Battalion was part of the 36th Brigade of the 12th Eastern Division of K1. It is not known at what pont William joined the Battalion, but he died on 23rd July 1916 when they were in action in Pozieres, France. | ||
