Parish records

For the period before civil registration (which started in 1837), the main genealogical records in England and Wales were those kept by the parish churches. These records are not centralised and are mainly available in county record offices. Some have been transcribed or indexed by volunteers; some have been digitised by commercial organisations such as Ancestry.co.uk.

I have recorded the Gumbleton entries that I have found from many sources.
