Letter to Earl of Salisbury 1606William Gomeldon to the Earl of Salisbury
1606: David Lloyd ap Ievan of Montgomeryshire, died 26 years ago seised of various lands in that shire. Petitioner is confident that he can prove that some part of the property was held in capite of the late Queen Elizabeth, which is now likewise held of the King, by Owen Lloyd, his heir. He asks to be allowed to substantiate the King's title to the lands which have been so long concealed, and that he may be awarded the benefit of all profits which may be due to the crown as the result of the inquiry.
