| William Morgan Gumbleton was a son of Morgan Gumbleton and his wife Mary, nee Hazell. He was born in 1870, when the family were living in the Alderbury area of Wiltshire, and was baptised on 23 Dec 1870 (exact place in Wiltshire unknown).
In 1871 he was recorded in the census, living with his parents and siblings in Charlton, Downton, Wiltshilre, where his father was working as a waterman (presumably on the river Avon which runs through that area). In the 1870s, the family moved to Llanllechid, Caernarvon, Wales, where Morgan, the father, worked as a gamekeeper. In the 1881 census, William was living at home at Tu Gwyn, Llanllechid and was a scholar. In 1891, now aged 20, he was still living in the parental home, which was now Foel Rhiwen, Llanddeiniolen, Bangor. The 1891 census does not list any occupation for him. It is not known what became of him after 1891. | ||
